How a tournament runs on ClubVerse

From the first entry to the trophy, this is what an organizer does on ClubVerse, and what teams and fans see at each step.

  1. Create the tournament

Give it a name, dates and a venue, then choose a format: groups followed by a knockout, groups only, or a straight knockout. Add categories if more than one competition shares the weekend, for example an Open division and an Over 35 division, each with its own teams, table and champion. Write the rules and list the prizes; both appear on the public page.

  2. Open registration

Clubs enter their teams, pay the entry fee online and build their squads. Players sign the tournament waiver on their own phones. The organizer approves each team, and can close registration on a deadline or by hand.

  3. Check players in

On match day the check-in desk confirms who is playing for whom. For age-restricted categories, such as Over 35, players' ages are verified before they take the field, and the organizer can see every team's status at a glance.

  4. Make the draw

Teams are drawn into groups, live if you like, with seeding and with teams from the same club kept apart. Teams are spread across the groups in turn so that each group gets a fair mix.

  5. Publish the fixtures

Schedule each matchday with kickoff times and pitches. A day can be published before its kickoff times are fixed, and every change reaches teams straight away.

  6. Score it live

Referees and volunteers enter goals, cards and substitutions from the touchline, on a phone or a watch. Group tables, the bracket and the leaderboards update with every result, so nobody has to work out the standings at the end of the day.

  7. Play the knockouts and hand out the awards

The top teams in each group move into the bracket. Drawn knockout matches go to penalties, and a third-place match can be played before the final. When it is over, the champion is recorded and individual awards, like the top scorer, are published with a shareable card.

What fans see

Every step above is reflected on the tournament's public page as it happens: who has entered, the draw, the fixtures, live scores, the tables and the bracket. Anyone can follow along on the web without an account, and the ClubVerse app adds notifications for the teams you follow.
