Who pays the card fees?
You do, on entry fees: clubs pay exactly the entry fee you set, and the card and ClubVerse fees come out of your payout. The calculator above shows what you receive — set your fee a little higher to cover it. Bank transfer costs far less than card, so the app suggests it to clubs for larger fees. Zelle, Venmo and cash cost nothing.
Is the hosting fee refundable?
No — once paid, the tournament is published straight away. That stays true if you later change, postpone or cancel it. See the Terms.
Who handles refunds to clubs?
You do, as the host — you set the refund policy for your tournament. Refunds are issued through Stripe. The card service fee is not refunded.
Do players need the app?
No. Clubs and players can register, sign waivers and follow results on the web. The app makes matchday and notifications easier.
Do I pay tax on entry fees?
Entry fees are your income, not ClubVerse's. Stripe sends you a 1099-K when US reporting thresholds are met. Ask your accountant how it applies to your club or organization.
We already use Stripe. Can the money go there?
Yes. In Payouts choose "Already use Stripe?" and connect your existing account. Payments then land in your own Stripe account and your own payout schedule applies.
Can I host without a club?
Yes — host as an independent organizer and connect your own Stripe account for payouts. You can add co-organizers later.
